My Mods Roundup! Please add your 2 cents.

After browsing the forums I've come up with my short list for mods.. Any recommendations or comments are welcome!

2014 335i xdrive M Sport no PPK

1)JB4 stage 2 (I'll be running map 2 93 octane and map 7 50/50 e85 93) $530
http://www.burgertuning.com/N55_Stage2_Jb4.html

2)aFe Power Momentum BMW F30 335i (N55) Stage 2 Intake $450 w/o Module $730 with.
http://www.**********s.com/aFe-Power...e-2-Intake.htm
They offer a package with a aFe SCORCHER module but is that pointless with the JB4?

3)Borla Cat-Back Exhaust S-Type $1200
http://www.borla.com/products/f30_33...t__140512.html
Any issues with the xdrive on this or compatibility issues with the ER downpipe?

4)Evolution Racewerks N55 Catless Downpipes $500
http://www.**********s.com/Evolution...W-F30-335i.htm
Is this worth the $$ will I notice a difference? Should it be on the bottom of the list if I run out of $$?

Total about $2700

Thoughts? Issues? Worth it?

Thanks!

That's a very nice list of mods there. Priced right and you'll be pumping out a lot more power. Would love to see a dyno after all the mods are installed. Keep us posted!

+1

I'd like to see more intakes out there and more testing. Apparently the stock intake is very good and the afe one really isn't doing much other than changing the sound. That's quite a bit of money for maybe a few hp.

On the question about the DP, I think they're a far better buy if you're doing all that modding and you'll notice that 100x more than you'd notice that intake purchase. Quicker spool up and more power not to mention the ability to run 93 octane and map 2 without E85.

A cat back exhaust probably won't provide much 'gains' other that sound, so I wont speak to that. Most are getting it for the sound and not performance.

I'd hold off on the intake but the rest sounds good.

My list would be 1) JB4, 2) DP, 3) Exhaust 4)Intake to be named later

Notice the two most expensive items you listed will produce virtually no performance gain.

The guys at Borla claim the new S-Type catback exhaust will add 12-15 WHP....more significant than I thought...

I think either is a great choice. I'd probably go with BMS just for customer service if the prices are comparable.

That's impressive actually. Not really a hp/$$ standpoint but the fact that they are claiming double digit whp gains. I wonder if anyone can back this up or if in tandem with other mods.

I know it's a shot in the dark, but with the above mods and map 7 on the JB4 running 50/50 E85/93 what would ballpark 0-60 and 1/4 mile look like? I'll probably get stuck bitting the bullet in an intercooler as well

Assuming you have the tires to hook up, low 12's in the quarter probably. I think some have hit 11.9 with meth and drag radials.

0-60? Probably near 4 seconds flat.

We're getting into driver mod/traction territory.

The ER downpipe and the BMS downpipe are the same thing

BMS sells the ER downpipe

Look at the photo on BMS's site - you can see the ER logo on the plaque on the bare metal one

http://www.burgertuning.com/F30_BMW_..._downpipe.html

Second buying the JB4 Stage2 and the downpipe - bonus, the Stage2 will clear the o2 codes that the catless downpipe will throw
