Color codes for Base HiFi amp connector
Hi,
Just trying to start my project the right way. I tried looking at various sources for the function of the wires entering the OEM amp in the trunk but the colors on the wires don't match any documents I've seen so far. On what I'd assume to be the low level, I have 4 WHITE + (BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW, BLACK) and I also have 4 GREY + (GREEN, VIOLET, WHITE, YELLOW) Which wires are for FL FR RR RL ? On the amp out section I have: YELLOW + (RED, BROWN), BLUE + (WHITE, BROWN) on the other connector BLUE + (BROWN, BLACK, GREEN, BROWN?) Any ideas? This is on a Canadian 135i 2009 with base audio + ipod, not sure which week of production. c'mon RPM90, don't let me down. You probably have this info on your desktop |

That seems a little strange? Have you got a photo of the paired wires going into that connector?
Thought all HiFi setups used the same colour coding as shown here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=138949 |

I know it is a very old thread but I was trying to find out some details for a different amp I am planning to install and thought my findings (or confirmation what GtiGyver figured out) might be useful for others.
I made a little sketch, detailing the amp connector and its signals on my E88, 2009, "HIFI Professional (CIC)": https://photos.app.goo.gl/jDEHUzAGsaMRhyw79 Regards, Chris |
