Plasti-Dip Wheels
I was looking around the forum and saw what great things Plasti-Dip can do. Since you can always peel it right off I decided to paint my stock wheels black. so, I went to my local Home Depot and bought 3 cans. Cost a little under $20 with tax. It took about 4-5 hours. It takes longer to clean and prep the wheels. I did it about 2 weeks ago and there is no signs of fading or peeling. I washed my car several times with my pressure washer and the paint is holding off pretty well.

thanks... So far, So good... I know what you mean. In some spots it did seem faded. I did about 3-4 coats. I also had portable heaters to help speed up the process.

Imagine if you hadnt done it yet and were posting it up here and you were planning on doing it, you'd be getting flamed all over.
First thing that i thought when i saw the title of the thread i was like "wow this guys gunna get burned" Lol. but no dude. Looks cool (edit: i just looked up plastidip wheels on google and found a post on the VW forum. The guy getting flamed all over.) (another edit: the people over on an F150 forum didnt even know what plastidip was until several posts later) lol

sweet they look really good man. I have done the same as well with my grills and eyelids on my car and its about to 9 months now. They have helped up extremely well...and dont need any touch ups yet. I've been thinking about doing my rims...but dont have a lift and car jacks....just need to borrow some from somebody....lol one of these days hahaha...dont burn me lol...I just applied it to my hamann lip as well..I love the look.
btw what did you use to help you prep the wheels...like the plastic I see cover your tires?

twinturbopg- haha.. don't worry man.. its all good. I used Plastic Seran Wrap to cover the whole wheel and i just used a Razor Blade to cut around near the end of the wheel. Then, I just tucked the Plastic Seran Wrap behind the wheel (where the rim meets tire.. near the bead.. lol)

I wonder how the paint would react to the plast dip....I think I might try it on my trunk...where ppl normally leave the CF exposed...its going to be difficult todo though...

Looks good vs. the silver OEM wheel paint.
I did the same thing with a set of ASA wheels that I use in the winter. Cleaning and prepping with a file grit sandpaper helped the paint stick better. I added two coats of rattle can clear coat and they've held up well.
