Out of on where? SES !
I was just sitting in traffic and out of no where the cars idle drops,SES comes on and when the light turns green and pressed on the gas the car stuttered like crazy and no power. I turned the car off and then back on right away everything was fine. The car for some reason even felt faster than usual after turning it back on. What was it??????

For me it was the beginning of 6 mos. of stalling, 4 appts. with the dealership, and 14 days of car being kept overnight. Knock on wood no problems since April 2010.

That happened to me for about 2 days. Then, I would be driving around restarting the car on a roll constantly, but if I put any load on the engine... boom - limp mode. A couple days later, BMW gave me some performance degrading software and a newer HPFP.

Mine has also done this two or three times in the last few months. Ses light is still on. I've been meaning to check the codes with the bt tool but haven't got around to it. I have a feeling it's my hpfp since I've also been gettin some long cranks these last couple weeks.
