I didn't need to take off airbag but it was PITA to take the trim off and on. Trim piece would get stuck in the middle of it and honk the horn few times. Anyways, definitely doable without taking off airbag.

very good, the separation and light shadows between the steering wheel and trim, it almost looks OEM... if i wouldn't have messed up the weave direction

^^ And this is why BMW owners get a bad rap. I wrapped my mirrors in the 3M version and have received compliments on it. I'm going to do my steering wheel this weekend. Looks great!

How does the trim come off if you don't remove the airbag?

Just ordered
Thanks for the tip...though word must have gotten out, as it was 23 bucks.
Worth it as I have the carbon leather trim and yours looks great.

Thanks man! I used the 3M version and used a exacto knife to cut out the M logo and then put it back on. I really like the look.

I love the look too. It's much better than the stock black trim (especially since mine was peeling) but oh ok gotcha. Ya if I do it again to line up the cf properly, Ill take the M badge off then re-apply. What adhesive did you use for it?

I used the original adhesive, just heated it just a little, then reapplied and it's sticking fairly well.

I didn't have to remove the airbag either. Was pretty simple to remove the 3 screws on the backside and the two screws holding the controls on each side and that was it.

did mine yesterday as well, mine was pealing/wrinkling bad.
airbag doesnt need to be removed like others have said. three torx screws (T20) and a small flathead screw driver to pry out the trim. Then use the same T20 for the right/left steering controls. You'll also need it to pry out the rectangle ///M badge as well; just make sure you pry the sticky portion with the badge so you can stick it back on after wrapping without needing glue. took less than 30mins start to finish. |

+1. First thing I noticed! OEM carbon flows left to right from the bottom to the top, the trim's film is flowing in the opposite direction
