Do I have FTM or TPMS?

Hi,

I have early build 2007 E90 335i Non-Sport, build 10/2006. I want to know if i have just FTM or TPMS. I think i have read in the past that early 335i does not have TPMS but just FTM. I am planning on getting CSL or V710 19" and want to know if i still have to buy TPMS...

Thanks

check your valve stems. If they look like a metallic gunmetal color & are metal then you have TPMS.

if it is just a black rubber stem (sometimes covered with a chrome looking sleeve) then you have FTM.

I believe you posted the same thread on another forum. If your car was built on 10/2006 then it has FTM.

i read that FTM uses rotation rates rather than pressure to do its thing. does this mean that one does not have to worry about tire sealant kits ruining the pressure sensors?

Yup that would make sense. But either way the tire will be ruined if you used the sealant.
