Thanks. Other than a lower suspension, Alcantara steering and bigger wheels, what does it get me? Am wondering if the 5k is better spent elsewhere? If they bump up the HP, now that would make it more attractive.

Exactly why I hate Idrive. 1 year and it is out of date already. Give me analog gauges on a sports car and connectivity to a smart phone then develop and update apps for the phone so the car is not outdated in 12 months time.

Easily done with software, turbos & boost are a good thing.

Can thank Benz for making BMW include a power bump in the competition package. The AMG perf package and S-modes forced their hand. Even though it is a weak 15hp bump, at least it is something.

upgrading software, be it IDrive, IPad or whatever is just something we all should get use to. Internet and Bluetooth connects make it painless.

I think the E46 ZCP got a steering wheel but the E9x didn't. I'm thinking it will be wheels, suspension, power bump, diff modes. The E9x package was either $2900 or $3200 if I remember correctly.

You are right. I don't mind it on my phone or iPad, actually I like it on those devices. I just hate it on a $75000 car that i'd like to keep for more than 3 years as the hardware interface also goes out of date.

Agreed, it's a vicious money cycle they have us dependent on.

ZCP on the E9x M3 was $2,500.

Only consisted of 10mm lowered ride height, sport mapping for EDC/DSC, style 359M wheels.

For a lot of people upgrading their suspension through aftermarket, they skipped ZCP because it included dynamic damper control as standard.

Remaped mdm would be great .. Also wider wheels 10.5 in or 11 in the rear would be great as well.. Vouldnt care less about power bump.. Also for manuals to have full control of on n off on rev match would be nice..

Well to keep everything in context. I said I bet it wont come out in 2016 with a guess of when the F82 LCI comes out. I never said I would bet on no 2017.

How much are you willing to bet that ZCP won't be offered on MY2016 F80 LCI?

Right, I understand. I only replied because I mistakenly read ynguldyn's reply as betting against the first sentence in your post, which would suggest he was agreeing with the guy who was predicting MY2016. That would have been a very notable surprise and quite a turn of events given his source of inside info.

Edit: ok, now he just snuck in a reply that suggests he is indeed implying just what I had originally thought.

You're that sure, even though we've not seen a single spyshot of an F80 ZCP?

When did you come to believe such a thing will occur?

Out of curiosity, how would people know if we've seen a ZCP mule or not? Outside of rims, the changes might only consist of ECU, suspension, and dampers.

Very reasonable question. I was sure there were spy shots of the E92 M3 ZCP somewhere on this site but I tried to find them and came up with nothing. I recall a discussion of some mystery test car being discussed that later was determined to have most likely been the ZCP. But all I could find along those lines is the GTS and that was definitely not mistakable for the competition package due to the rear wing.

So, the answer is that we might not know from spy shots. However, consider the fact that we've seen no recent M4 test car spy shots of any kind (other than the GTS which, again, has the rear wing). Certainly they would not limit the ZCP to just the M3, so this lack of M4 spy shots is casting some doubt.

Edit: found the thread:

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=328077

So then, nothing like this out there for the M4. However, we are only now about the same time from the start of MY2016 as this thread was from the start of MY2010 which is when the competition package debuted. I'm still pretty skeptical here, especially with ynguldyn's noncommittal attitude when he's usually very forthright.
