Want to Buy: Used N55 Transmission (GS6-45BZ)

Looking for a used GS6-45BZ -THD4 Transmission to go into a 2012 135i, located in Calgary, Alberta, will pay for shipping of course. Looking for something lower mileage as the car currently only has 113k km on it, just lost reverse on the trans.

I have a low mileage trans with a weak 2nd gear synchro, no issues with reverse.
You could use it for parts to rebuild yours as synchros are not available separately.

Appreciate the help finding reverse gear synchro's but there aren't any shops in my area willing to rebuild these trans, even if I supply parts, otherwise I would be interested. Still looking for a complete low mileage trans, bump.

I went through this last year with my E90 - my independent BMW guy couldn't find a transmission specialist who could repair the transmission so I bit the bullet and had him install the BMW remanufactured unit. This can be sourced from your local dealer - it was around $4,700 if I remember correctly...

Did you get any goodwill or discount from your dealer? Up here in Canada the trans alone is between $6500 to $6800 CAD before tax let alone any labor or fluids to install it, don't really want to end up putting a trans in for nearly 8k

I didn't consider going to the dealer for this - at the time my car was 13 years old with 120k miles so I presumed I was on my own. But I suppose it doesn't hurt to ask - if you do then let us know how that goes.

When I researched this issue at the time I found a few who got some goodwill but their cars were only just out of warranty time/miles.

I'm over it now but it's shocking that such a simple component would fail resulting in no reverse gear. I drove with it for a couple of months (made for some interesting parking strategies) then fixed and sold the car.
