Not your usual new f30 owner...
Just picked up a new F30 m-sport last night, but I've arrived here in a bit of weird way.
The F30 is my 4th BMW, it replaces an e90 6MT M3 and is in fact my first non-M. I loved my most recent M3, but I now live less than a mile from work and am on the road for biz travel as much as 50% of the month. Combined with the fact the M is our "practical" car used for hauling dogs or people around and plays second fiddle to a pair of newer and older 911s, the sad result is that it simply wasn't getting driven as much as it deserved to be. I made the hard choice to let it go to a deserving new keeper and replace it with something fun but needn't be that perfect. Any savings I would funnel into the 76 911 which is set to begin its life as a track focused car this weekend. I went back and forth on the right spec, fighting temptations of 6mt 335 m-sport w/ mppk Ultimately I embraced my choice to go a little simpler and decided to trust the great things I'd heard about the n20. I not only signed up for the smaller engine, but also gave in to my wife's suggestion to have at least one AT in the house. It was quite the shopping/deliberation process to not be going for the biggest engine and a manual after decades of that being the default shopping priorities! I ended up with a 328i with: Estoril blue/black leatherette/estoril highlight M-sport Tech Lighting Sport auto Rear view camera Pdc moonroof Msrp 48845 Leased for 3/30 for 500 under invoice |

Shoulda done 335i 6M with MPPK
Very "practical" for hauling things like people and kids (and other stuff with the rear seats folded, but when it needs to get up and go

Thanks Seven!
Wasn't my intent to rekindle the 328 v 335 wars, just telling my own story

I am just getting started with Porsche Owners Club (POC), a local track focused group. I'll be running in their HPDE series known as the Performance Driving Series (PDS) and hope to graduate to the Time Trial series by the end of the year.
PDS runs mostly at shorter tracks. I start this weekend at Streets of Willow. TT goes to bigger/faster tracks like Buttonwillow, Chuckwalla, Miller and Laguna Seca.

So was his M3, except it was even faster than a 335. It wasn't a post about wanting the fastest non-M3 sedan with folding seats, it was a post about his particular needs/wants.
