[QUOTE=Tallest;30552699]I saw one first time yesterday.. It was turning on a traffic light and while waiting a couple in front of me pointed at one... and laughed. Like actually laughed and pointed and it wasnt nice at all, it was mocking the car or the driver or both. Unreal, never seen random strangers just react like that to a car with such contempt and ridicule. Not representative example but this is my thoughts when I saw it, i just wouldnt point and laugh.

So it makes sense this car sits on the lots. Ugly and expensive, the worst kind of combo. IX looks way nicer in comparison. BUT BMW is doing ok, growing in a poor year with high rates. Good on them, enjoy the US and EUrope market while it lasts.

They basically had to give them away to get people to buy them with Heavy discounts to get them Lower leases. I still wouldn’t have one.

Yikes….they were overly optimistic with the design. Should’ve enlisted more enthusiasts input perhaps…that back end is a no no imho

this could vary by region, but I feel like Texas - at least Dallas and Austin do not have many X5s in stock at all. I feel like they sell everything sent here. Could it still be a production issue?

Now check out their Asia sales results….which in my opinion is the reason why they are designing these Frankenstein vehicles eg. New X7 and 7 series. Specifally for that market.

Well I was considering an X5 50e but ended up with an iX because it has a better and more modern design in an out, and it's better to drive, and it has better performance, and it's much better value for money - literally underpriced for what it is. So there you go.

You have the 'What you feel is all there is' syndrome.
You don't like the LCI, so the reason X5 is selling less is LCI.
You don't like iX, so iX can't be getting buyers from X5.

The word doesn't revolve around you

Absolutely that’s who all of these cars are designed for Asian market. They all look like they came from a bad Asian movie.

No, X7 sells really well in the U.S, as seen in the numbers. These numbers aren't Asian sales.
And it looks better than X5 and X3, bolder and more special.

The point is, you said iX can't take away customers from X5 - because it's 'ugly'.
And I say it did. Me. And many more. Just look at the iX forum. It's not 'ugly' for everyone.
Your (Dinosaur - IMO) taste is not the global standard.

Neither is the IX. The global standard also.

I don't understand how they continue to increase sales in this economic environment. A new luxury car is the last thing I would be spending money on right now.

In the US:
-Unemployment 3.8%
-Yes, inflation is up but…
-Several vehicles are only slightly above the national new vehicle average (e.g., x1,3 series). All cars - generally speaking - are more expensive. Rather have a $50k Honda or BMW?
-Market share: buyers coming to the brand from other brands that can’t keep up with supply
-EV market growing dramatically, plus incentives and attractive lease offers
-BMW brand ranking #1

The X7 I really wanted to like it but it does not handle as well as an X5 and secondly when I look at it from the back door to the rear end, all I can see is a van the design being more square and straight of the rear door back just drives me crazy on the X7 where The line going down the side of yhe x5 looks better and breaks it up .
