Check out 230 5th for a great rooftop lounge. Thats the name of the place and the actual address (I think its on like 5th and 25th or something like that). Has great views of the city skyline but it does get pretty packed.

Im surprised no one mentioned Ippudo, down near St Marks...great ramen and sushi, I always go there lol. There used to be a great sushi place uptown in the 70s, but it closed down.

If you want to try another good place, Turkish if you feel up to it, is a place called Pacha, Its on 76th near 8th ave I believe...the food there was off the hook.

obviously nights are busier than others probably, but what's my best nights?
Thursdays are usually busy down in the Lower East Side. Just walk around Rivington, Avenue A, or Bowery and you're sure to find something popping.

1 of the good things about manhattan is that, apart from maybe the west village and lower manhattan, you rarely need a map

Iranian:

Ravagh
Middle Eastern, Persian

11 E 30th St, New York 10016
Btwn 5th & Madison Ave

They don't serve Falafels I don't think...but that's not REAL middle eastern food anyway. The Ravagh I go to in Roslyn, Long Island is a little better I think but I haven't been to the one in NYC in a while. AMAZING Persian food...the best you can have anywhere. Get the Qormeh Sabzi....best hot beef stew in the world IMO.

Being a sushi fanatic, I would recommend Sushi of Gari (upper east side) and Sushi Yasuda (midtown east). Both offer omakase, and I prefer to sit at the sushi bar to get interaction with the sushi chefs (makes for a great experience). Sushi of Gari has more creative sushi, whereas Sushi Yasuda serves sushi in a purer way. Both are great, so if you get a chance, try one!
awesome Yasuda looks good to me. depending where im at i'll hit that or Gari up. i hope i can check out Yasuda tho. thanks!!

LOL. ok if you like Turkish among the different types of M.E. food, I would suggest skipping Moustache and Zerza and going to either:

Maia Meyhane (sp?) (Ave A or B on 6th or 7th st)
Turkish _____ (9th Ave on either 44th or 45th)
