Why didn't they tell you about the insurance situation? Because they exist to sell cars. And they want the fewest possible complications.

^THIS. My daughter has the same issue..under age surcharge (she's 21)...but she can rent them.

Binder on other cars was has been enough for me the last few times here in socal.

OP, just get your own insurance and pick up the car as scheduled

nick, OP lives in a land far, far away where they drive on the wrong side of the road - where they can't understand our silly rules, and we can't understand theirs.

Need some advice,

Picking up my 2016 335d x drive on Monday. ..rang up this morning to sort out my 7 day drive away insurance...however only to find out that I am not eligible to be insured on this car as it is BMW policy to be over 30 to be insured on a car with this engine..(I am turning 25 sat 19th March. .where my insurance with direct line kicks in...as my premium drops a few £££...

Genuinely annoyed with this as no dealer once mentioned this as they all know I'm younger than 30...booked a day off work for this and do not want to book or swap any shifts (Currently getting in the good side of line managers of my pharmacy company and don't want to screw it up).

What could I do to with the dealer about this?

Am I just in the wrong for thinking this is the incompetence of the dealer for not knowing this?...wouldn't mind if you had to be 25 to be insured...but 30....taking the biscuit there...

Was planning to get a letter from direct line showing the difference between the premiums when being 24 and 25...and then trying to get BMW to compensate for this as no policy terms and conditions are expressed on the leaflet given to me for this drive away insurance?
Also all temp cover websites do not want to know me...gutted as I have no convictions ..purely my age.

What are my options guys/girls?
Wish i could order a 335d in the USA!

Sorry to be blunt, but you've just discovered actuarial science.
Of course they can, it's just a lil' more expensive.

Randomly just came across this and found it weird as I was provided with 7 day insurance for my new 440i by BMW with no issues and I'm 26. That was in April
