So, I just got back from the BMW dealership. Took a look at the 2009 M3. It wasn't that bad. It needs brakes and tires for sure. There's a lot of road noise and the steering shakes a bit when you brake. VCG seeping a little bit. Nothing crazy. The drive belt was cracked.
I offered the dealership $24K+TTL They were at $25,727+TTL. I told him I'd pay that price if they replaced the tires or something. They wouldn't budge. I'm going to go look at the E93 next week.

I just bought an E93 last week. My first BMW. I'm not going to track it or even drive it hard all the time. That's why you get a convertible, it's about the fun and sun. You don't need to be red-lining it to enjoy. How many really push the limits of their E92 anyway?
Plus, it's 'almost' a guarantee that it hasn't been at the track. That said, it's got the power when you need it and, in the open air, sounds insane! As far as the roof concerns, I've not read anything about them being a common fail. With that mileage I wouldn't worry about it. One man's opinion... |

I have a 2013 E93 and the only thing I have to add is demand for E93’s are low, so don’t overpay for one. In my opinion, $27k is a bit steep for a 2008, even with the low mileage.

What do you think would be a fair offer on the E93? The average 6-month market on an E93 M3 is $26,375. I offered the seller 26k+TTL

Just found this thread. I ended up scooping up that E93 you first posted.

Nah, decided to keep the 540. The E92 M3 sold. E93 is sold. I'd rather settle down (get a house etc) before buying a Sports car.

What did you pick it up for? The guy wouldn't budge at all. The last time I looked at it, seemed like the right side "spoiler" had been repainted.

I lived in Chicago-land and I remember a couple problems…
Rust and body damage. Those streets and winters could be rough. There was a pothole on my way from Thorndale Stop to Bensenville that would swallow an entire wheel. Cars would be lined-up along side the road damaged, until it was filled. Otherwise prices were reasonable just like riding red-line to the loop. It was 1.50 bak then. |

Sorry to leave you hanging! I ended up getting it for asking price out the door. It was the cleanest lowest mile car i could find for the summer. It has some minor cometic stuff but the car is mint. I was laying under it the past two days putting on a exhaust and doing a complete preventative maintenance schedule. The only things it NEEDED were belts (the double sided belt was cracked) and tires (the car came with really old winter tires....assuming it was the cheapest tire the dealer could buy for it.) So far I've replaced all the filters, oil/filter, belts, plugs, diff fluid. Installed a few goodies like a front lip and exhaust. I'm just looking for a fun cruiser and I think i found it!
