I was just getting ready to pack it in and head for home when I caught the slightest movement out of the corner of my eye. This was taken from a long way off and is a pretty heavy crop. I wish I could have gotten a bit closer as all that grass was playing havoc with the autofocus, but I was in the middle of the road with no where to pull off. Still, it is always a thrill to me to see a real live wildcat in their own environment.

I love wildlife. Just hard to come upon a lot of it in NJ.

I have a massive weak spot for that car!
Haven't posted anything in quite a while. Messed around with a 100L last weekend on the morning after we got our first snow of the season. I found it hard to focus with the subject being straight above me and my dog wanting to keep walking. The latter somewhat detracted from the goal of taking a macro shot of the frost crystals that formed on the branches before they melted that morning. Feel free to tell me my composition is off. I cropped in after the fact and was having trouble figuring out a good way to crop it to get the branch that was in focus into a reasonable position.

They look great, Ed. What's the London show on the TV in the background?
(Sorry for snooping.)

While Dave was enjoying the San Francisco waterfront, I was about 90 miles north in Sonoma county, enjoying some after turkey wine tasting

Too bad, but he looks well fed.
One of my dream shots is one of our coyote leaping in the air to catch a ring-necked pheasant right after take-off. Of course, the light will be perfect and I'll have the perfect perspective...six-years and counting.

The light was iffy, but I went out anyway and was rewarded with a coyote hunting. I took over 800-shots and caught eight different leaps. Here's my favorite:

^^^^Very cool. On my Flickr page there's a leaping coyote duel going on between you and Ed.
