How do you know you bought/own the right car ?
When you look out your window into the car park and think man if I could have any car in the car park.... you'd still only have yours !

Sorry man but I'm more important than the chicks. They're a close second but I'm still number 1. If I don't "dig it" then it's for sale.

I'm actually going through this process right now. I love my 997 vert, i do turn around when walking away after parking it etc but be absolutely DAMNDED if i can find anywhere to drive it here. Roads are in absolutely atrocious condition, traffic is astonishingly bad and it's a SOLID 30 to 40 minute drive before i hit a decent bit of road, so at least an hr round trip before I even start "driving".
I've been casually looking at E93 M3 and wondering if i should have went in that direction as a DD and just run 2 cars, not 3. |

I can relate.
I sold my 2018 F30 with the MPPSK and abunch of other goodies. I am missing it a lot. I am missing the sound of the MPPSK. I am missing the way it looks and the way it turned heads and I received compliments every place I went to. The power, feel and sound is something I am missing from my 2018 x5 that I picked up a few months ago. Def regretting my decision..

When myself, wife, and my soon to be 1 year old baby boy all enjoy our family F80 together. The excitement my son gets as soon as he see's our family F80 in the parking lot is a real joy; he starts making engine sounds and when he sits up front behind the steering wheel is everything to me.

When I've kept it for any real length of time. I normally change cars like most people change underwear. Longest I've ever owned 1 single car was a little over 5 years. Runner up was a little over 3 years 2 other times.
The 1st 5 year car for me was my 2nd Mazdaspeed6. I ended up buying ti back from the guy I sold it 2 a year or 2 after I sold it. Then I sold it again...for a profit. Sometimes I wish I kept it. My 1st MS6 was bought brand new and had that for a little over 3 years. My 1st car that I kept for any length of time was my 2nd car, 1995 Camaro Z28 back in the early 2000s. I bought my Hellcat new in 2018 and no plans to sell so it will soon be the new longest. I'm on Miata #6. Only because my last was wrecked last summer. I'm hoping I end up keeping this one a long time. Next up for car plans is a new daily so I can retire the Hellcat from those duties. Problem is I think I want a truck, but that's not really going to be fun to drive, right? The early 2000s Lightnings intrigue me, but not going to pay $20k for one. Same with the old SRT-10. That leaves what that isn't some new absurdly priced 4x4 truck? I guess I'll have to end up in a AWD sedan...

Certainly as the years go by and you start to get anxious about what you're going to replace it with because nothing on the market appeals to you.

Have you named her yet????
I kept my GMC for 20+ years, always patting her on the dash when she took care of me. I feel kinda bad that I gave her to my oldest son, he doesn't care about her like I did. Actually, I never did name the GMC. In February my wife bought me Luna Taco (Lunar Rock-colored Tacoma) So begins another 20+ years. . .

So true. When the G80 M3 came out with the monster nostrils, I took one look and said to myself "That ugly car is forever off my list of cars to consider" but then I came around based on the features: Sweet BMW inline six, manual transmission, M differential, brakes, etc. I've come to accept, but not love, the looks of the front end. So if I park and walk to the front, I don't look back in appreciation. If I walk to the rear, I admire the lines. And let's face it, mostly we see the interior of the car as drivers -- I love my interior (full leather in Tartufo, black fine wood trim, etc.) Now if I'm driving the Porsche Macan, no problem -- I think it looks good from any angle.
