Question VLAND GTS Tail Lights Fitment / Wiring Questions

I was curious if anyone can comment on the VLAND GTS Tail Lights in terms of how they fit compared to the OEM sets. I attempted to install one of the outer lights but it felt like they don't sit as flush as the OEM LCI tail. Is that a known thing, or is there any adjustment to get them to sit properly? While they look great, the instructions are not very good!

Also, the wiring for the sequential turn signal - install videos show it being run through different parts of the body, but I am having a hard time figuring out where it can be fished through. Some show it under the gasket which is a bad idea for leakage / pinching the wires. One shows the hole to the right of the outer lamp, but there is a post on the tail that fits through there and would interfere. Another post alluded that there is a way to properly fish it through but I couldn't find any notation as to where.

Also, do LCI cars even need the resistors installed since they already have LED tail lights and shouldn't have any bulb check issues?

Thanks for any input you might have.

They should fit snuggly, but not OEM snug because they are not OEM parts. Mine sit good enough to the point where I can't tell if there are small imperfections. If they move when you push them, they're not correctly installed.

Usually the problem is the inner lights. For those, the fix is to use the cream colored OEM attachment parts and not the ones that come with the lights.

There is a plastic piece on the light that you can cut off, allowing you to fish the wire through without pinching it.

After installation, it's recommended you code the lights as LED in Bimmercode, for example if you don't already have LED's. This will prevent any bulb checks from running which can flicker the lights.

Thanks for the information - the light was very snug when I test fit it, just not as flush with the body which may just be differences in the shape. I just wanted to make sure there wouldn't be issues with water ingress but even the OEM lights aren't sealed per se.

I wondered if that post needed to be cut off but I didn't see that mentioned anywhere else in the instructions. Makes a lot more sense to fish the wire through there than under the trunk gasket!

They look great on your car and I'm thinking I should give it another attempt as I think they will work well on ours.
