Hi all,

Now that summer is here, I'd like to upgrade my stock leather wrapped steering wheel with the new Alcantara one.

As I indicated in my other post (https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1962996), I purchased the MeWant wrap kit, but somehow I just can't find myself to put this aftermarket stuff on my fully OEM BMW.

I know that BMW has a OEM M-Performance steering wheel (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...l/32302230188/), but it seems that the heating function is omitted, however, the the switch for the steering wheel heating remains without function. This has also been confirmed by the parts department here at BMW Gallery in Calgary.

Ok, can someone really explain this problem to me? Why does the heating function no longer work on the 32302230188 M-performance wheel? I hate just trusting what others say on blind faith. Also, what about the Lane Departure Vibration warning? Does this also NO LONGER work on this 32302230188 M-performance wheel?

AFAIK the heating coil is not built into that Part no. If the ECS tuning pics are true of the part, you can even see that the plug for the heating element is missing. The vibration motor (lane departure or blind spot functions), however, can be transferred from your existing wheel. It gets mounted on the right spoke (vertical pair of spokes at 6 o'clock)
