When I clicked on this thread, I didn’t expect to appreciate this build nearly as much as I do, coming from the subie world I had a certain idea of what JDM would be but this is actually super clean. Wheels and air isn’t really my thing but lots of attention to detail, quality parts and mods, and cohesive final result- super unique and well done, appreciate your vision for it, kept it pretty clean but with a definite JDM twist on it

326Power wheel stud conversion (APR 2024)
Intalled these 326power studs so that 1) I could run open ended lug nuts and 2) just make it easier to take off and mount wheels.
Installation was straight forward. Used red loctite and torqued each stud using 25 ft lbs. Driven on these for about 500-700kms at the time of posting this and no issues. These are double the price of bosch or burger motorsports ones but they're JDM and 326power so worth it imo Studs are M12x1.25. COST: $250~ CAD

Nightrunner International Titanum Lug Nuts (APR 2024)
NRi TiR46 Open Ended Titanium Lug Nuts
These come from my previous build. They're M12x1.5 so they'll fit perfectly fine on my M12x1.25 326power studs. Discontinued. Don't know if Reggie/NRi will ever restock these. COST: $450 CAD

Fenders rolled and slightly pulled (APR 2024)
Rolled the front fenders flat as they were rubbing with my new wheel/tire set up. Also pulled it a little bit (barely noticable).
Fenders are now close to flat and give me enough clearance to run the specs I want to run. Used an Eastwood fender roller and heated up the paint to 130-140 degrees celsius so no paint chips or cracks. Turned out pretty good. COST: $120 CAD for the Eastwood roller

Airlift + Work Meisters S1 3pc (APR 2024)
Car is now bagged on Airlift 3P management + V2 air struts. Done by the amazing @chopshoptgsc in Cambridge, ON.
I then mounted Work Meister S1 3pcs on and the fitment is almost perfect. Needed to roll/pull the front fenders and nearly max out the front camber on the Airlift strut tophats to get these to fit. SPECS: Work Meister S1 3pc Pirelli Pzero A/S 3+ tires F: 19x9.5+24 R disk with 235/35/19 R: 19x9.5+23 O disk with 235/35/19 5x120 White face Standard polished lip Gold hardware COST: LOL

M4 Style Carbon Spoiler (APR 2024)
Installed a carbon fiber M4 style spoiler. Just used some double sided 3M tape. Makes the rear end more aggressive along with the carbon diffuser.
COST: $200 CAD

Clear side reflectors (APR 2024)
Replaced the OEM amber side reflectors with clear ones. Matches my build better with all the white going on. Install was easy; just open up the fender liner by taking off 4 10MM bolts and then just heat up the OEM ones for a bit and push it through the bumper.
COST: $30 CAD

When using air suspension and parked do you always have to be aired out or can you park with some air in the bags so the under carriage isn't on the ground? Also how does the car ride in comparison to OEM suspension or coilovers? I'm thinking about air suspension so I can lower my car but still be able to raise up to navigate steep inclines. I'm at OEM ride height with a CF front lip and I already scrape sometimes if I'm not careful enough. |

1. I don't have to air out every time I park. I can leave it at ride height. 2. Air ride definitely is a little more bumpier than OEM but so far my experience hasn't been too different. I've been on this set up for 3000 km now through potholes, train tracks, bumps, etc and the difference isn't that big. I'd say air suspension is worth it if you're willing to shell out that money because you save your under carriage, lip, bumpers etc from scraping while being able to maintain nice fitment.

GTS tail lights (MAY 2024)
Installed VLAND GTS tail lights (red) today and I'm more than happy with the results. While OEM LCI lights are nice, I personally prefer the aggressive of the GTS style lights. Installation was very easy but man the OEM BMW retainer screws that hold in the trunk liner are garbage. I ended up stripping 3 of them and had to essentially break them to remove the liner.
Comparison video of OEM LCI and VLAND gts COST: $400 but gift from my girlfriend
