"BUZZING/HUMMING" noise. Inside cabin driver side. Near dash.

I have this intermittent buzzing/humming noise that will randomly come and go. Changing the AC or power level of the fan does not change it. Radio volume or anything does not change it. It’s just a random buzzing noise inside the cabin. It does not happen often, but today it buzzed for a solid 2 to 3 minutes whereas it usually lasts 2-5 seconds.

Is it inside the cabin, or could it be coming from the outside? Does pumping the brake make it happen?

I think I have an M3 problem.

kolosy yes pumping the brake. Its loudest when the door opens. So it’s driver side towards the firewall. 27E4 code, I’m assuming the brake pressure sensor?

yeah that sensor makes the brake vacuum pump run, alot of times when people do a brake fluid change and spill fluid it damages the sensor.

yep that's right. it's a little fiddly but easily doable yourself, without pulling the reservoir. and with a $20 amazon sensor. there's a thread on it floating around.

kolosy yea I did some research on it. Got the part order and prepared to lose some skin getting to it. I did my pads and I assume when I repressurized the brake system. Brake fluid leaked a bit and got on it. Makes sense
