Match UP7BMW wiring

Trying to add an Audiotec Fischer Match Up7BMW amp to the 135i (676 audio).
It's supposed to be plug and play but in testing the amp out, we weren't able to get a USB link to the laptop then when checking wiring noticed that the wiring connector was starting to burn up.

I emailed the company and did a search but I can't find anything related to this.
Confirmed that the wires coming into the amp that are supposed to be hot are hot, and the ones that are supposed to be ground are ground.

Anyone seen this before?

Must have been a loose connector or something. We rechecked and reseated everything and it's working. USB not working was due to a defective or incompatible cable.
