Cic software update

Hi all,

I have recently had a CIC system retrofitted in my 2008 E82 (E89)

Everything is working as expected, however the software of the unit is currently CIC.C08, but I am after the latest CIC.C1A

To update it, it needs to be done via ICOM-MOST?

I’m trying to avoid buying my own unit to do this myself.

Is anyone in/around London, UK able to offer this service, or recommend anyone who can?

Thanks!

---

Edit: this was possible using an ICOM unit with MOST adapter. I have this available for sale, feel free to message me if interested!

I purchased an ICOM system, updated my unit and completed a full CCC to CIC retrofit.

Navigation, 2022 maps etc

How did you do that? would you mind explaining it? I have CIC.c08 too and want to update to C1A.

I can KDCAN cable and ICOM cable.

Thanks

There are various methods, I would only recommend doing this via ICOM

You will need WinKFP, EasyConnect & iTool Radar.

I followed this order:

There's a whole host of resources out there around the process.

I'm sorry I was mistaken. I do not have the ICOM cable, it was enet cable.

Is there any way to do the same with enet or dcan cable?

Thanks

I don’t believe it’s possible, annoyingly!

Believe me, I also spend a lot of time trying.

If you were on the latest version of CIC, so have had luck with Ethernet cables etc. BUT because you’re on the older CIC version, don’t waste your time.

If you’re in the United Kingdom, I can probably help? PM me if so

I appreciate your willingness to help, unfortunately, I'm not in the UK.

However, I am not using the BMW Map or not going to use it anyway as I have connected an MMI box to it, so I can use Android Auto and, already using it.

My only concern is, it's a bit ugly when it has that grayed-out navigation menu item.

Maybe I'll code out the navigation feature altogether or live like this.

Thanks!
