What tires do you wrap your rims with?
I am looking for new tires. Got a few in mind, but I want to see what you guys think are the best tires. Want something with ultra grip. Thanks |

I use Conti Sport 5P for road and Yoko AD08R for track.
Depends what your local climate is like. CA, so really dry? If I was in your shoes I would leave the track boots on all year round. |

I just got my 2008 335i E90 a few weeks ago but I've already looked into getting new tires for it which will be needed shortly. If you're not going to get another set of RFTs, the tires that are most often recommended are the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Those are the one's I'm planning to get.
Excellent reviews not only from owners of 335is but many other makes/models as well, including at least one Ferrari F30 owner that I saw. You can get a set of 4 from Tire Rack (the last I looked) for $900 plus shipping, etc. Of course, if you get them (or any other non-RFTs), you'll need (or should get) a spare tire kit as well, which will set you back another $300-400, depending on where you buy it. |

Pilot Super Sports were the best on the 3-series I could find... amazing all around performance on the A/S variants, low noise, great wear, etc.

Continental DWS here as well. I keep a spare wheel/tire in the trunk with tools.

Ultra grip? What's your budget? Get some slicks, but if you want street legal tires with great grip and decent tread life then Michelin Pilot Super Sports are the ones I currently use and recommend.

Hankook Ventus V12. I had these on my last car and really loved the grip and how silent they are so that's what I'm getting this year. A lot more grip than Continental Extreme DW.

Everyone's experience is different since everyone's driving style is different.
That said, here's my 2c: Had Hankook Ventus V12 and they didn't last long. Liked the feel of the tires and agree with datbimmer, they are quiet. However, my rears were shot in about 10K (Yes my alignment was fine per BMW dealer). Then I moved on and got RFT's again... Bridgestone RE960AS. They were much better than the stock RTFs (RE050A I believe), but I quickly realized why I left RFTs the first time. The ride was still too harsh for me. Once the rears wore out I decided to go back to non-RFTs again (Thank you Gary @ Tirerack) Recently moved to the Continental Extreme DW. So far so good, but haven't had them on long enough to give any sort of review. I don't track, but very spirited on the road. Based on my research, the top 3 replacements for our cars appear to be the Mich, Contis and Cooks. (Summer or AS will depend on your geo location) TireRack is great for reviews, so between E90post and the TR site, you should be able to gather enough intel to make a wise choice. Good luck! -E

Currently still have the run flats, but they are almost done. Next trying to decide between Continental DW and Bridgestone S-04 Pole Position.

Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position are a great summer tire. Lots of grip, quiet, responsive, behave well in the rain, and are ok at low ambient temperatures.
I currently have falken azenis on my m3 and would not recommend them. They are a great tire for what i paid. They are gripper than the S-04's but pale in comparison to the dunlop star specs i had before on the car. The star specs had more grip, lasted longer, were quieter, better in the rain and could take more heat at the track before getting greasy. I hear its hard to beat the top end Michelin tire for overall grip on the street. They are pretty close to being a race tire and from what i hear no run in the rain or cold. |
