Help me customize my 2013 M3

So after 2 years contemplating on buying an M3 Coupe, I have decided to replace my 2005 GTO with an M3, however, I'm torn between a Mineral White or Space Grey I'm also unsure whether or not I want to splurge on the Premium Sound System. I typically listen to Mog, Pandora, or other downloaded iTunes songs off my iPhone. I'm not looking for anything too loud, just crisp and clean sound at a decent volume without the speakers or amp clipping.

Would you guys recommend any pkg combinations? I definitely want a carbon fiber roof, competition pack, cold weather pack, premium pack, DCT, BMW apps and possibly Sirius radio for traffic and music.

The only things I'm unsure of is whether I want black seats, brushed aluminum trim, and which exterior color.

I'm planning on ordering around mid September and picking up from Germany around March to April timeframe after I return from my deployment.

Chris, with either of those exterior colors, the Fox Red will look good on both; it's a unique interior. However, if your heart is set on black, then why not. I have black, and I like it.

Brush aluminum trim looks mundane to me. I have carbon leather and it looks so awesome.

HOpe that helps

My dream build...

Jerez Black Metallic
Fox Red/Black/Black
Carbon Leather interior
Cold Weather Package
Competition Package
Premium Package
M Double-clutch Transmission with Drivelogic
BMW Apps
Automatic high beams

Total: $74,145 USD

I honestly don't much car about how music sounds within the confines of the cockpit. Why would I when the music of the S65B40 sounds so much better?! But, if you are an audiophile, the extra $1900 would make sense.

Does the carbon leather trim compliment the black dash nicely? I was thinking the silver would contrast the dash and black leather seats. I doubt I would go with red leather. The sales guy also told me that it doesn't hold up as good as the black.

You can get silver in all the base model BMW's and yes it scratches easily. Gotta go with carbon in an M3...the silver shouldn't even be an option IMHO.

To each their own, but I'd ditch the Cold Weather Package. Hate the look of the spray bumps infront of the headlights and can't stand having to clean the overspray once the headlight washers do go off. You can get Heated Seats as a stand-alone option and do you really need a ski bag?

Space grey is an amazing color. After a few waxes, is sparkles amazingly. But every since a close friend got a metallic white car, I have found that white's are no longer boring. So now I almost wish I had done Mineral white. 1 thing is for sure and that is that that car looks absolutely great in both colors-and really looks best, IMO in lighter colors. As far as interior, with white, any interior option will look good, but do beige, or silverstone. Black definitely looks great with SG. Just go ahead and get the premium sound system...you'll be glad you did. 825 watts is nice to brag about. Congrats on the car!

space gray FTW over mineral white, that's because I can't stand 'pearly' colors lol

+1 for space grey.

+1 for upgraded audio, particularly if you're going to plug devices in and get satellite radio.

-1 for carbon trim on black leather, which I have but would probably not recommend. A little drab.

-1 for the carbon trim in general. Try to take a look at it before adding it; it's fairly unimpressive carbon imprinted pleather versus the carbon trim pieces you'd see in one of the newer AMGs for example.

The carbon leather trim shouldn't be compared to the resin-coated carbon fiber pieces in Audi's and Merc's, it's like apples to oranges. That said, I loved the CF pieces in the Audi RS4 but I still love my CF trim in my M3. It's the first thing people comment on when they first sit in the car. They're just 2 different things.

Oh and +1 on the premium sound!

My last car was sparkling graphite with extended silver/aluminum interior. I loved that and prefer it much more to my current black/carbon interior. I agree it's a bit drab, to the point that I've been considering IND's painted interior trim package.

There's an idea Space Grey with Black or FR interior and Aluminum trim. Get IND to paint your aluminum trim Fox Red, Gloss black or whatever you prefer.

Also, get EPS, ditch the Cold weather pkg, get heated seats as stand alone option.

MO, no mineral white. It looks old man white. My ca talked me out of it and I couldn't be happier with my decision when he showed me the two colors side by side. Fox red/blk/blk with carbon int. looks tough as nails, looks much better in person, and I get lots of complements. No cold weather pkg., and i miss the heated seats living in NY. Couldn't even read the thread about how awesome the prem. sound is bc, I didn't get it! my buddy won't even let me listen to his radio. I highly advise u NOT to skip that opt. hope this helps u with ur decision, but u gotta be happy w ur decision. GL...

I have space grey with fox red/black/black.

-i wouldn't care so much for stereo upgrade...that's just me. I ALWAYS drive with windows open except when it's raining. The sound of the car is just so mesmerizing. I like the hear what's happening and listening while rowing through the gears is a big part of the love for the m3.

-Carbon leather is the best option....but I am already looking ahead to real carbon trim...sigh (dreaming).

-Do the spoiler delete....that will force you to get the performance spoiler!!!

-the GTS wheels would be a good place to start for wheels.

ski bag, winter package??? who cares!
