Hyrdaulic steering conversion

Hey all, I know it’s been talked about before but has anyone ever tried using the steering shaft from a 3 series? People say just an Z4M shaft but I cannot get one. I know rack and everything else from an E46 but column can be used for the swap. I hate the way EPS feels in comparison to how the hydraulic felt on my old E46. Thanks in advance!

Can't offer a valid response, but the electric steering on my z4 3.0si feels great on the track and gives me ample solid feedback.

Don't be so quick to swap it out unless you have a very good reason for it!

Doubt the steering shaft would fit. The Z4 has a longer engine bay with a more reward driver seating position.
