Heads up. Looks like the M sport pack is gone for 135 build, website is way different. Must be due to upcoming M1. Looks like another 89 325is on our hands, kind of.

That makes absolutely no sense. Can you please explain?

yeah, I noticed that, but the accessories filled up with all sorts of goodies. Definitely a different website than a month ago.

It may be gone, but this will be a M product. Remember, that 89 325is had a bigger brother called the e30 M3. There is nothing bigger in the 1 series lineup than the M version. That's the big dawg, straight from the M Division.

Considering how buggy BMWUSA.com has traditionally been, it's just as likely that this is an error and will be restored shortly.

talked with a BMW mechanic at a deli, asked him if there was any news on the 1 series M, he said he hasn't heard anything and that he doesn't really know that much. I told him that I've been following it and seen the spy pics and such. He was like, "I don't know when or what it will be".

I never tipped my hand about it probably have the S55 engine and all the other goodies, but either BMW hasn't told anybody any real details, or that the mechanics are out of the loop, or he is lying.

The product has not been officially discussed with support staff since it has not even reached final evaluation yet.

From everything I have heard it will be a MY 2012 car in summer 2011 and it should run for 8-10 months. Bringing the 2013 new model in late Spring of 2012, as is typical with BMW launching a new vehicle. (US timeline)

The noteworthy item is that according to information we had from a while back is that the convertible roof is contracted through 2013 so the convertible may live on a bit longer or there are some timeline discrepancies as are so common amongst various sources/countries.

All in all the 1 ///M will be a fun car for those that want to fork over the cash.

Looks like BMWUSA website is in transistion. Ignore my comment. The thought was they were removing the M badgeing for 135, only to be used for M1 ( just like e30 325 and M3)

In regards to 89 325is, it is quite rare in minor detail. Ellipsoids, "is" badge, No Airbag, and new boody parts combination.

Thanks, I kinda figured that support staff haven't even gotten the heads up yet. Maybe, I might take a trip to the local dealer...see if I can get a tad more info (they had the 1st X5 M and X6 M in MD---at the time)

They're the last to know my friend. Their number one goal is to secure a sale, any sale that day. They don't like discussing cars on the horizon. Your best bet is info elsewhere. I've been dealing with dealerships for quite a while now. I can't count how many times I've been on a test drive knowing more about the cars than the salesman.

+1.
He doesn't want you to wait for a car that'll eventually come around in a year or so, he'd like to make a sale TODAY. That nice blue one in the showroom is the last one for the next 5 months sir, if I were you, I'd buy that one NOW....

Couldn't agree more, asked the salesman when I bought my 2010 a few months prior to the release of the 2011's if there would be any major changes. He said nope was set to be the same and remain the same price maybe a few minor things but nothing to major. I guess a new engine isn't that major?

If the run is supposed to begin in Mid summer 2011, when does BMW typically allow the ordering process to begin? Do they allow preorder in advance?

From what I have been hearing the launch will be like how the 5 Series just went- pre-order then delivery in June, this could change but it seems very logical.

Also thinking about BMW launch plans- X3 begin for EU with September production and US for November/December. Slight staggering to ramp up.

That timescale seems correct. The plan is for European customers to have their cars in the Spring of 2011.
With US and other markets behind the wheel for early Summer 2011.
