Static through all audio sources + bong.
So today my car lost its mind.
It was fine on the commute to work, parked in a garage, but when I fired it up to go home instead of the seatbelt bong and the like I got a loud screeching sound. Then when I go to start playing from bluetooth the audio sounds like its coming through a 1930s stereo, with static over the audio. I changed sources and its still there, audio but a loud static over it. Its also when I back up, the backup sensor screeches through the rear speakers instead of beeping. I searched but everything that came up is a constant screeching/static with the car "off." Mine isnt doing that. If I turn the head unit off its dead silent until I do something to get a bong and/or backup beep. The head unit behaves normally. Switches sources, plays CDs, responds to steering wheel commands, etc. Its just the audio. Im guessing that my amp is dying but I am hoping, even if it is that, someone can evoke a shared experience that would save me time/money in chasing a goose. |

Okely dokely. I initially tried turning things on/off and resetting the radio and nothing. So I rolled in, the girlfriend came home and we went for a jog. Afterward I went out to pull the fuse on the amp to see if that would do anything and turned it on first to double-check and its all good. Ran the radio a few times and everything sounds normal and behaves.
Software glitch maybe? |
