Brake caliper rebuild kit problems
Hey guys, I'm wanting to rack your brain to see what I am missing here.
I have a 2016 F30 340i and am in progress of doing the hybrid brake upgrade of putting M235i/M240i rear calipers on. Ive purchased the calipers and had them powder coated already. Here is where I am having issues. I disassembled them and brought them to the powder coat place. promptly threw out the old packings and dust boots because I had new ones already on order. Upon reassembly the new o rings and dust boots are not fitting. Ive now purchased 2 different sets of caliper rebuild kits and they just are way to big. Here is the part numbers I am using Caliper: 20.b433.02 and 20.b434.02 rebuild kit: 15441 from Carlson as well as 15441 from auto-zone (duralast i think) Anyone have any input on why none of these rebuild kits are working? I've got 2 more kits coming from Rock Auto (RAYBESTOS WK3318) tomorrow that I will try. Here are some pictures

So you're going to the 370mm front / 345mm rears?
If so, I purchased the following rebuild kits just last week and can verify that they fit perfectly: Manufacture: Centric Front: 143.34039 (40mm pistons) Rear: 143.34040 (40mm pistons) https://www.zeckhausen.com/catalog/i...5096_5774_6220 I'd also pick up a bottle of brake caliper assembly lube if you haven't already. |

on https://www.zeckhausen.com/, I noticed that the M235i has a rebuild set that is for a 40mm piston and the 340i has 44mm rear pistons.
I can only think of two conclusions about my issue. 1: maybe the caliper was mislabeled and is actually for a different vehicle. I dont think this is the case as the seller is selling a ton of parts from a flooded 2015 M235i (I do have the VIN) 2: BMW changed the internals of the caliper from 40 to44mm pistons at some point and it hasn't been noticed. by the general public. I doubt these get rebuilt that often so this could be the case. Anyway i found some other part numbers. Centric 143.34040 should be for the 44mm piston rears on the 340i https://www.zeckhausen.com/catalog/p...ducts_id=16887 Centric 143.35031 should be the 40mm pistons on the rear of "?? SOME ??" M235i vehicles Caliper rebuild kit - rear (40mm pistons) to rebuild one 2-piston caliper It seams that Zeckhausen has the correct info even though getbmwparts.com shows the same part number for the M235i and the 340i caliper. just in case anyone is following this or runs into the same problem as me, M235 brakes will fit the f30.
I used an f30 345x24 rear rotor and m235i rear calipers. you can find the part numbers in my post above.

I've been lurking around on the 2addicts forum lately, looking for the same rear calipers to match the front brembos.

So was anyone able to confirm the reason bmw went with a new part number for the 2piston rear Brembos? Is it real y'all just a color change?

OP did the RAYBESTOS WK3318 kit work for you? I want to get bleeder caps in the set as well. Everywhere I look this reybestos part number lists the M3 and M4 so I know it should fit the 2pot Brembos with 44mm pistons. Just want to make sure.
