Similar to another shot i posted, but this is a 3 shot pano, showing a bit more of the surrounding landscape. The overlayed green horizon line in the X-T1's viewfinder helps me keep it level across all the shots.

Nice.

I keep a coarse grid on in the VF of my DSLR for just this purpose, keeping horizons level, getting verticals right and observing rule-of-thirds in compositions. I very often find myself looking at them. Then, in Raw conversion, I also keep coarse gridlines on for the same reasons.

It was early in the day and the light was changing fast. I was in Manual mode when this pelican started flying at me. I grabbed a few shots, then looked at the back of my camera and the "blinkies" were going off like a five-alarm fire. I told my buddy, "Oh shit, I blew out the whole bird" and he said, "Don't worry it, you can fix it with DxO."

Here it is with -2EV on the highlights. I think think that it turned out great. It goes to show how pessimistic the "blinkies" are because they're based on an in-camera jpeg, with relatively even processing of Highlights and Shadows. Still, I thought 2EV was too much to hope for.

Awesome pelican shot, DC. Nice recovery.

Caught a daredevil jackrabbit, Ed. Hope there wasn't a train coming. Were the gates down?

I faved your sunset pic on Flickr, David. Very nicely done.

This is a fun shot on Lake Michigan. The foreground colors are created by a huge difference in White balance from the parking lot lights (camera right) and the yet to rise sun with a long 30 second exposure.

reu2, that turned out very nice. Love the warm colors resulting from the WB adjustment.

Nice scene David.

I like that technique of using an ultra-wide (17mm) and then cropping 5:2. It really works for these kinds of scenes.

Here's one of mine from this winter, with ice still on the lake, ten-minutes from my house. I used my 15mm diagonal fisheye, de-fished it and cropped it 5:2. I used a small aperture to make the sun star-burst:

Beautiful shot, Dave.

FYI - The shot I posted is actually a shift pano (3 shots total) which ends up being similar to a 5:2 crop but has moar pixels

Gorgeous shot of the Florida landscape. Here's another one from that state that I just took last night.
