Hard wire a permanent WiFi hot spot - best way?
Hi folks,
I've a dashcam in the car and I'd like to be able to access it 247 even when I'm not parked at the house (outside WiFi coverage), so I bought a 4G WiFi hot spot thing. It has its own battery, but needs to be charged as well of course. Reading I found this post which mentions something similar, but does not solve for the power issue (the car will turn off the USB ports after X minutes post driving to not deplete the car battery): https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1720650 Any ideas on how to provide permanent power to a USB (5V) device like this? Perhaps the best bet is to buy a power bank? Hot spot USB > power bank. Power bank charge in > something like Power Magic Pro > permanent on car power. Thanks |

I would probably just correctly retrofit an ATM with WiFi Hotspot built in. ATMs have a built in internal batteries for when the car is off and charge when they are on.
