Not sure if this has been discussed but how does something at 10 Hz accurately display hundredths (0.01). @10Hz and 60mph it updates every 8.8ft. Is hundredth only the internal clock so it would only display say 3.56s and next possible post would be 3.66s?

Looking at purchasing but need some accuracy reassurance first. I would expect the refresh to be much higher to justify accuracy of the posted times in .01 resolution.

Thanks

Regardless of the engineering questions. It's been proven to be fairly accurate. I myself have proved it to be within a few hundreds or sometimes thousands of actual time slips.

It's no worse than the margin of error you get with a timing system at a track.

I can only assume (and hope) the software is analyzing the trend of data points and interpolating to get the last decimal place. Of course that means you have a margin of error, but over the course of 30-100 data points (@10hz), your margin of error should be fairly low.

Inertial sensors and timers is how. The AIM Solo 2 has a 10hz GPS and gives the same functionality and racers use AIM. The counterpoint being they also use transponders for the official times. So you probably have a bit of a point.
