Its just a larger tube for the mass air flow sensor. Its not going to result in eleventybillion horsepowers unless your inlet for the throttle bodies and the plenum have also been upgraded. Its not like BMW put a higher flow intake plenum on it and said, "to get good MPG lets just put a tiny MAF tube on it."

It's made so you can run an open filter so it basically does replace it

I should be more specific it's not the Maf sensor, it's the piping that houses the sensor
