Just for looks or would it protect any?

I'm OCD about adding weight. I'm planning on upgrading motors soon to get more flight time. Mine is right around 2300 grams.
I am getting about 9 minutes out of a 5000 mah 4S with the DJI 1038 props. Motors get a little warm but not hot enough yet where you can't hold them.
It will protect it slightly, its not that much weight that i noticed a difference, i am running the 6600 with the 8045 and get between 12-15min depending if I'm flying it hardcore or just hovering.

That's with gimbal and everything?
That's not bad.

It depends what you're going for. Flying FPV is pretty hard.

If you want the live video just for aerial filming I'd go with with a transmitter mounted LCD screen instead.

Goggles are great for immersion, but the Fat Shark Predators only have 25 degrees field of view so the immersion isn't that great. I'd probably go for something wider next time: http://www.fatshark.com/App_Theme/de...Comparison.png

Messing around, my first few flights with the gimbal. Nothing exciting but was pretty fun to fly from my car

if anyone is looking for a built RTF DJI 550 with gimbal, check this out. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2173603

I bought this from Bretster and realized i don't have the time for it and decided to sell it before i even attempted the maiden flight. Figured i'd rather not have to fix it before selling it! haha

^^ cool videos!
