when buying a used car...

this may be a dumb question but i would like some clarification. When buying a used BMW, or any car i guess, is the BMW dealership supposed to change your oil and filter? or only if the car is due for an oil change?

even if you are the first owner, they charge you for oil changes besides the scheduled ones.
so as long as you pay, they will change your oil and filter for you.
