Will window tints in combination with the side mirror dim…..

Will windows tints in combination with side mirror dim double down on the lack of visibility. I assume the answer is of course "yes". So is there away to dim or delete the night time side mirror dim effect? Thank you.

On my f33 i had 20% tint on sides and rear. The mirrors never autodimmed unless the top was down. I put a sticker over the sensor and it stopped autodimming.

Use Bimmercode to code it. Note however that the sensor is in the windshield mounted rear view mirror, so it's only the light level coming through the rear window that affects the sensor.

So it's based on the light level inside the car! Thank you

The problem I had was since my rear window reduced the brightness of headlights behind me hitting the windshield rear view mirror the side view mirrors didn't dim enough, because my front side windows aren't tinted. It's illegal in my state, and cops here do take it seriously, as do garages that do state inspections.

Oh jeez that sucks. What state are you in? I just moved to PA. Originally from NJ. Tint are illegal in Jersey and I've always done them anyway. Idc. I just take the ticket on the chin and call the officer an A-hole. But I've never failed inspection because of it. I'm not even sure about PA I'm gonna google it.

That’s easy to fix, also put a piece of tint over the front ambient light sensor lens.

Worked bees knees in my old e34 with the retrofitted dimming mirror to compensate for the limo tint all around
