Warranty 3rd Party

Hello.....

Buying a used 335i Xdrive 2011 with 13k miles. I was offered a 3rd party warranty but, to be honest the warranty company seems not too legit. Any thoughts if I should...

1 - buy a 3rd party warranty?
2 - who is a reputable company to get this from?
3 - what level of coverage if right for the car?
4 - what should this cost based on the car?

Cheers,

Ronan

I hate to give advice that I'm not 100% on, but it seems to me that a car that new with low miles should already have a warranty. My E92 came with 4 yrs / 50kmiles bumper to bumper.

Try E90post. You're in the M3 forum and our cars are a wee bit more expensive to warranty.

Your best bet would be to go over to the E90 forum and search "extended warranty". There have been LOTS of discussions on this and they will really help you. Be careful not to confuse Extended Warranty and Extended Maintenance - they are two different things. And get multiple quotes from dealers - any dealer can sell you an extended warranty.

My answers;

1. I chose not to
2. I went with BMWNA to guarantee genuine BMW parts and service
3. That totally depends on whether you will put on high miles in a shorter period of time or keep miles lower over a longer period of time.
4. I suspect that your 335 would be less than an M3.

Good luck!
