SVC Engine Soon light
Hey all, as you know I recently recieved my 335d. I havent been active on the forum since I recieved it because I've been driving every possible moment.
I just recently went over 1200 so you know I. Anyway I'm now at 1400 and a SERVICE ENGINE SOON light came on while I was on the freeway. I was going to call my CA today when I got to wrok but on the drive in the light just went off. Anyone exerience this?

Check to make sure your car has the latest software programming. I had a similar experience where my car would throw random error lights and the software update solved the problem.

Unless you scan for codes (assuming you have a tool) it could be anything. You'll likely have to bring it by a dealer and have him read the fob or do a scan on their own to really know. It could be nothing, it could be something.

I had this happen two weeks ago (SES light came on). After reading posts on here i waited to see if it would go off, because I think it was related to a loose gas cap (wife put it on too loosely). Tightened the cap, drive it about 300 miles, never went off. Took it to dealer this AM, they confirm that it is what it was. They reset light. Kind of a pain, IMO. But at least nothing was actually wrong.
If your gas cap had not been loose for about a day, then you would get the light and no, it will not turn off on its own. have to go to dealer. |
