340i

Hi there, long time lurker on this forum - it's really good

I am getting close to pulling the trigger on a 340i Touring, does anyone have a sense on when remaps might be coming on the market? I don't know if I will end up getting mine remapped but would appreciate if anyone had a sense of what lead times remaps can have when a new (sort of) engine comes out?

Many thanks.

Can't be that long, same engine now as in the M135i, no?

There are still challenges around mapping the M135i, most use a tuning box solution.

I think the new engine has much greater potential to cope with much more power!

Apologies, however have to ask, other than 'because I can' why remap it?

The reviews seem to be pointing at steering / suspension side of things etc.

Even then depends on personal feel and how you like it.

It has more power than the 335i out of the box.

Surely, money spent on handling should be first priority?

I just always think it crazy looking at power before handling.

Ok, apologies, back in my box...

(I would not be surprised if BMW have upgraded their encryption algorithm across the full software / firmware suite).
