Blower motor resistor fsu blown

I have a 2009 bmw 328i and my ac recently stopped working. It happened while i was driving and i tried to turn it up. it suddenly stopped working. it since hasn't blown any air at all in any mode(defrost included. i have taken the blower motor out and apart from a few leaves, it spins fine. The fuse isn't blown in the fuse box but, upon further inspection, my blower motor resistor seems to be blown. Would this cause my ac to not blow any air (hot or cold)?

i have since figured out it was the wiring harness that has been recalled and not replaced. the bare wire is showing and shorted causing my ac to stop blowing air on any setting.
