Does your e90-93 run better when it's cold?

I imagine the fuel/air mixture must be different when you first start the car from a cold start. However, I wish it would stay like that because my 335i is a beast x2 in the mornings! Lol. Then again, I guess that's what a tune is for!

Cooler air = More dense, more oxygen.

Guess that's the logic behind a cold air intake...

It may run better but it sounds like an old creaky boat in the fucking winter time so it seems a lot slower...

Yeah it does. It just got into the 40's yesterday and I could immediately tell the difference. The engine seems a bit louder too. For some odd reason, my transmission seems to shift faster. I have no idea why.

The rattles and creaks come out to play at 5:30am during the commute. I've learned to live with them.

Lol I'm kidding but yeah in the morning its quick because its cold but as the day goes on and it gets hotter I feel it struggling. Plus when its hot and the ac is on, idle starts to stutter.

Mine used to feel a lot stronger when temps got below 60 and the air is nice and dense and cold, but now with upgraded IC, open intake and a flash, I don't notice as much, still a bit, but not so significant!

Hope your oil temps are at least 160F before beating on it cold or save up for turbos. That is hell on oil seals cold.
One of the reasons chief of operations would can any pilot if we didn't have all the temps on our aircraft in the green before take off. Boost on take off was 39" and you could ruin an engine with cold temps or overboost.
I am willing to bet you guys if you watch your boost gage when dead cold it is overboosting and once warm the controller does a better job managing the boost.

It is fun though to use the higher density you get when cold to play with...

No would never beat on it, engine just go go goes without any effort!
By the way 'fun2drive', if I could turn back the hands of time the only other thing I would have been is a pilot. [so jealous]
