4 series f32 dashboard light problem

Hi guys just picking your brains. I noticed in my car today when start up the white dashboard lights on any of the HUD doesn't turn on but the orange will (night mode or side lights), anyone know what it could be down too? Is it a simple fuse or something else?

Random thoughts:

1. Dirty light sensor. Clean the outside of the windscreen where the rear view mirror.
2. Your lights might be on either by accident or you're in a shaded area.
3. Try it in strong sunlight see if it is still orange.

I will give it a shot. The lights are on automatic setting. The orange came on if I switched to side lights. Or in shaded area. But not when I went back to automatic. If that helps with any thoughts.

Yes orange will come on if you do that. It's only white on Auto in good day light.

I've tried cleaning the sensor and everything and in good day light the white still doesn't come on.the only time I get a back light is when the orange switches over.

You say the white will only come on in good daylight. Is there any time no light would come on then? I've always noticed / thought it was daylight white, night orange is all.

Code it

KOMBI-->3007 KI_Dimmung, 24-->DIM_NACHT_EIN-->Werte=FF
The default value is Werte=0A. This hexadecimal value relates to the sensitivity of the sensor that determines the threshold at which the display changes into its nighttime mode. When set to "FF" it stays on the daytime mode constantly.

If you code to stay on white and it doesn't work then it sounds like one for warranty. Given what you have said if you used to see white and no longer do then there may be a fault.

Yeah sounds like there might a slight fault. Night mode seems to take a while to toggle over to when I noticed the other day.
Typical when it's just gone over 3 years old too...

I wish I had the kit to code it. But unfortunately I dont
