Putting 436ms on a 435xi
So I was thinking of purchasing a set of 436ms that came off a m235xi to put on my f36 435xi, I did some research and alot of people said that they might fit but won't be optimal for your suspension. The seller says that they can throw in a set of spacers. Will throwing on some spacers fix any issues this may cause or should I just cancel the deal over all?
the wheels im buying is a squared set of 225/40/18s my current car is a squared 225/45/18s looking to see if its worth getting them or not as the seller lives 2 and a half hours away from me I wouldn't wanna drive that far just for the wheels to not fit on mine when I get back and throw them on |

225/40/18 is a TIRE size. And it’s the wrong tire diameter for F30 tires (which are typically 26” diameter).
What’s the WHEEL size/specs? Wheel sizes are specified by Diameter X Width with an Offset. That’s what determines if the wheels fit. IIRC 436Ms are staggered sizes from factory (?) so you’ll need WHEEL specs for front and rear. |

compared to our F3x's, 2-series wheels have higher offsets and smaller tire diameter. although they will fit, the appearance will be more tucked, increased fenderwell gaps along with speedo/odometer error.
large spacers and larger diameter tires can rectify this, but overall imo it is not worth it. i'd rather get rims and tires with widths, offsets and diameters suitable for F3x's |

my 435i is 8 x 18s all around and from what I have seen the 436s are also 8 x 18, I haven't gotten an exact measurement yet as the seller hasn't responded luckily for me it seems like the seller is going to throw in an extra set of spacers with the wheels and I already have a set of tires with a 45 aspect ratio like me id just have to get them mounted, that being set would this theoretically work? only reason im going through this trouble is because the owner is throwing in his own set of spacers with the purchase |

436 comes in 18x7.5 ET45 with 225/40/18 or
18x8 ET52 with 245/35/18 for xdrive or rwd with staggered setup. Imo 225's(especially at the rear)are narrow for N55/B58 torque. If square, I'd use: 235/45/18 (minimum), 245/40/18 if mildly lowered, or 255/40/18 most grip Unless needed for clearance, I avoid spacers and prefer finding wheels with offset so spacers aren't needed. Ultimately if you like them and don't care about whatever I said above, have at it and enjoy |

A 225/40 is too short sidewall - you already have the 225/45s now. So they’re smaller diameter. Spacers don’t affect diameter. You’ll want to know exactly what the spacer sizes are to calculate your offset change. You can compare that offset to your current 18x8 wheels offset. Here are the 436M specs.: |
