Got a hold of one of those cans of color shift paint the other day, I starter playing around with my xbox controller first then I moved on to my valve cover thinking hey worse case scenario I go back to black. I will say im very pleased with the results and the finish is better then any canned paint ive ever used, I will probably do my calipers with this same paint.

It does have clear and it is really shiny but the day i took this picture it was really cloudy outside. The more the sun shines the more it changes colors and shines, as far as wet sanding it do i need to use a specific grit? what should i use? and can i wet sand it after i clear coated it? ive never really wet sanded i would appreciate it if you could point me to the right process.

I got it from autozone, but if you do a quick google search you will find it "colorshift rustoleum, galaxy blue"

So I went ahead and did the calipers, on my current style 95s the calipers arent noticeable but on my next set of wheels(as mentioned here http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=920627 )they should be more noticeable.

It was a quick job no sanding nothing just wanted an idea of what it would look like so dont be too disappointed, I will likely do a proper job in the near future although I must admit finish was pretty clean and smooth

I like the enthusiasm but you painted the rotor hat unevenly and have over spray on the pad area. Next time take the time to pull the caliper off the rotor at least and mask the areas off.

I did mask off the area, any over spray on the rotor will wearboff with breaking. My brakes are due soon and I may be going will slotted rotors so like mentioned above when I have to cross that bridge I will do so properly. This was just a testing phase, doesn't seem to be over sprayed in person once it dried, well noticeable anyways.

thanks for the constructive criticism tho

I just noticed the first picture of the rotor showed the hat having uneven lines, I like the color though. I think it would look really cool if you had a CSL trunk and did the top of the lip in the color shift paint as well.

I like the caliper that color it its going to look really good with the new wheels.

Rotor hat painted is too much for my taste, black would look better imo.
