Exclamation HELP! the salt stains on my chrome lips!!!

It snowed quite a bit in vancouver and the road salt stained my iforged lips...
i got a car wash yesterday and my lips were still dirty and i thought the people did a shit job... however after i got home i tried scrubbing it and it turns out its stained and its really difficult getting it off...

would it be the chemical ate away a coat on my lip?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

btw not sure if my lips are polished or chrome... its iforged Challenge

Your lips are probably polish and not chrome. I'm sure you can buff it out.

That's why god you should always put on stocks. I wouldn't even dare to run my DPE's (chrome lip) w/ the amount of salt they use in NYC. It's nuts!

As the ^ above poster said, it's probably polish lips? Should buff right out.

try claying..then try polishing with a metal polish..thing i don't get is most polished looking rims have some type of clear coat on them..so your telling me salt ate through the clear? or are you sure there is no clear and just polished alloy/aluminum? is it every wheel? defect maybe? i would call the company and ask what to do..wheels are touchy sometimes.

Would the stains on my polished lip be the so called "oxidation" if so it's stated on the iforged site to use aluminum polish to remove them?

or for a more aggressive cleaning use 50/50 solution of simple green and water.

any advice?
