Drivetrain Malfunction Notification

I own a 2013 335xi and have got a drivetrain malfunction notification while driving. It didn't drive any different after I received the notification and the caution light when away once I restarted my car. Has anyone else experienced this and what was your issue? Answers found on YT and the internet don't narrow it down.

You need to get the code. Use an obd scanner to check what the code is. That will hint at the issue.
