2007 335i e92 Stutter
Ok so I have a problem and not sure if this is the right place to post this but i have a 2007 335i e92 60xxx miles engine is all stock no check engine light or codes present, according to the dealer.
When driving the vehicle at a constant speed usually above 3k RPMS the vehicle does a stutter of sorts even when gas is pressed at a constant rate OR on cruise control. Think of a pendulum swinging back and forth, the vehicle will jerk forward then stop then again. Nothing super harsh but its definitely noticeable. When looking at the RPMs they dont drop they stay steady. Also when u get out of the constant speed and increase speed the stutter goes away until you get back into a constant speed. Has anyone had this problem? What should I be looking for? I took it to the dealer and they dont know the problem. Any advice would help greatly its getting quite annoying. Vehicle is a 6speed Last edited by proughj; 09-02-2013 at 06:49 PM.. Reason: ADD INFO |

Log to see if any cylinder has timing correction other than value 0. By process of elimination, replace spark plug, then coil then injector (in that order) on that cylinder(s). Not a pro but that's what work for me. Best of luck.

The standard plug replacement life cycle on the 335 is about 3x longer than it should be. If you haven't replaced your plugs, I would highly recommend just replacing them. Much cheaper than coil packs and can make a big difference if your plug gap is excessive due to normal plug wear. After replacing the plugs, if the stutter persists, then I would recommend looking at coils. But, you need diagnostics software to validate the cylinder that is causing the issues. Buy a cheep INPA K+DCAN cable from eBay and let me know. I'll hook you up with the INPA software to do the rough cylinder testing which will help you pinpoint the faulty coil pack.
