I had LUX, V3's I believe 6k? It's been a while...But i actually just had to replace them bc a wire came lose...Now I have some $50 Amazon 6.5k LED,s to be honest while they are def not as bright as the LUX, I like the blue/white much more...

I also coded them to be much brighter during the day.

Hi DKM, you managed to code the LED angel brightness? Thought this was only possible with the OEM bulb while voltage changes on the LED converter didn't change the light? Hmm, might be worth trying on my Lux.

Cheers

To be totally honest, Im not sure. I they seemed a bit brighter but it could have been in my head.

Generally speaking, Diodes ca vary in brightness based on the level of impedence placed before the "bulb" or LED. I need to test w a multi-meter.

Updates!

ATTN: ALL BMW TECHS, HOW THE F**K DID THIS HAPPEN?

I stopped at a light after about 30 mins of moderate driving, when I heard what sounded like a gun shot under the hood then the gar had a major misfire on 1 or more cylinder.

Popped the hood liquid everywhere. It was dark assumed a piston punctured the block

once I got a light I found what actually happened and it makes o sense. The coolant over flow tank EXPLODED.... the hot coolant cover the engine bay and soaked a few injectors/ sensors which caused the engine o have major misses...Heres some pics.

Anyone ever see this before?

Update: New Subwoofer Installed

COMPONENTS:

-OEM CD/DVD Player (Upgrading to Android multimedia)

-Audio Control Line Output Converter/ Line Driver with ACCU-BASS technology to prevent factory bass roll off

-Hifonics BX10 Digital Bass Restoration Signal Processor.

-Pioneer Championship Series Amplifier Class D 2400 watt. 800RMS @ 2ohms(2 CH / Bridgable)

-Alpine Type Type R Subwoofer 12" (Wired in Parallel, 2 ohms) Recommended power handling 800-1500 RMS.

-Vented Enclosure, 1.4 cu/ft, stuffed with poly-fill and sealed around the speaker, and wire terminals with silicone.

-Planet Audio 2.0 Farad Capacitor w/ Voltage display.

Sounds incredible for just 1 sub... At full volume the factory Mids/Highs hold there own against the Bass. Want to add one more Type R but that would most definitely involve amping the stock components in the car or swapping and amping them...

Notice in the pics, I also added some M3 and BMW Patches LMAO. Corny I know but wanted to do something with them for a long time.

Does anyone know if the OEM speakers in the M3 (I believe I have the Hi-Fi) (2) tweeters, (2) Front door speakers (1) center channel sub and (2) 8" underseat subs...Can these speakers handle more power than the stock amp? Or can I reuse existing speaker wires and a 6 Channel LOC to push a 4 channel amp and replace the door speakers and underseat woofers???

Probably a water pump or thermostat issue.

I considered those possibilities but they said this is a common problem ROFL

If so, I never heard of it.

a week later they still have the car. Keeps throwing codes and/or warnings "engine malfunction, reduced power", erratic idle. major misfires, etc.

Biggest fear is a bad head gasket (pressure entering coolant system...\

Anyone have any similar experiece'''

I've never seen the tank explode like that... The cap has a pressure release so it shouldn't get to that point.. pretty crazy.

Made no sense to me either, but maybe you could shed some light on this...(One service manager said hes see the coolant issue a lot?!? lol) I dont buy it.

Anyway, a Few hrs before the incident, with the Engine just warmed up, "Engine Malfunction",: "reduced Power",: "goto nearest BMW blah blah" message on CIC, along with bogging under throttle, erratic idle... I shut off/on ignition. Misfire went away, along message and he CELy.

Few hours later, Boom. Explosion, and all the earlier messages pop back up. I shut off the car immediately. Only drove 1 moment to get iff the main rd. Car was bogging.

DEALER DIAGNOSIS: Replaced actual tank. Cleared codes. "Faulty throttle actuator came up. They replaced that and car still missing??? They were stuck scratching there heads fri.

Today I got a message my SM think ill b done tomm...Very curious to see wtf happened.

Any Ideas Mike? Or not enough info?

Only possibility is that the pressure cap got stuck shut somehow and the system over pressurized and blew.

But in my many years of car ownership I've never ever heard of this happening. The pressure cap always fails by not being to hold pressure and the car overheats, but not the way around.

On a side note, we now know the coolant hoses are tough.

Got a few new mods:

Carbon Fiber: Mirror Caps (Above), Challenge Rep Rear Diffuser, Roof Spoiler.

Shift knob, and monochrome ///M Performance Windshield Sticker which I may or may not put on...I got the writing in matte black and was going to pu it over the tinted strip on the windshield to make it very subtle. If it sticks out too much Im not putting it on.
