FYI / DIY: How to transfer a bootmod3 license and not get scammed :-)
Hey guys, with so many people going out and looking for used Bootmod3 (BM3) licenses I wanted to make sure that everyone knew exactly how it works so that they don't get scammed. Protuningfreaks has made it very easy for the seller but there isn't much information on what the BUYER should expect. PLUS if you have never seen it you just might not know how it all works -- especially if you get an error message like I did.
I hope this saves someone from getting $cammed. |

I believe it can be any license? I'm not 100% sure but I remember reading that you can buy any licence.

So does that mean I can buy the cheapest license going brand new then just buy a map pack for my engine? If so as an S63TU owner I'm pretty sure that works out cheaper then buying the proper M5 S63TU license

I know the cool-car premium explains the mark-up, but it would be hilarious if you could just get any license and get the map packs for the more powerful engines. Again, I don't see why that wouldn't work, unless when you purchase a license, it only let's you choose from a certain group of OTS maps. |
