Smokers Package Deletion questions

Hi all, 2 questions about deleting my smokers package.

First, if I remove the package and replace with the empty tray, will my car have a problem with that?
I recently removed my shift knob with the battery connected and it chimes every time I open the door (I have yet to reinstall it). This proves to me that the car can detect when things are connected so I am concerned I would get a chime because the 12v and lights would not be there anymore.

Secondly, if I modify the empty tray to fit the 12v into it, should I take any measures against the lights and wiring of it?
What I mean is that the the 12v wiring also has two led lights that illuminate the ash tray and lighter ring. There are moldings in the ashtray that keep them in place. Because the empty tray is simple, there is no spot for them, meaning the LEDs, PCB, and soldered wired ends will be in the abyss behind my dash. Seems like a fire hazard.

I am thinking of deleting the people who smoke package in my US spec 335I sedan that is on order. What is the ashtray and cigarette lighter changed by using in the back and front? Are there any reamaining auxillary shops inside the car if I delete this package deal? Thanks

Hello, I am not sure if you are talking about a new model. I am talking about a BMW from 2013.

Also, I used Bimmergeeks to scan for a code for the smoker package and I haven’t seen a problem yet. Therefore, I believe I am good to go. I did not try to modify the storage tray.

It's surprising they still have this as an choice. The ashtry up from in good enough however the ashtry within the back is just dumb. That aspect desires to go.
