Skyline Run III - Including M3 Evolution pics e30-e92

On April 10th the M3post Mid-Atlantic group went on the 3rd iteration of the now traditional and popular Skyline Run. Skyline Run is a meet and drive event. All European sport cars are welcome and we usually have Porsche's, Audi's, and Mercedes, but not this time - this time it was all BMW's. We had every M3, the latest M5, one of the rare M Coupes, 335s, 330s, and a Z4. It's not only a great event to see how others modded their cars but to also see how they work when it counts.

We find the absolute best roads the area has to offer with the least amount of traffic. This time we were on back mountain roads the entire drive. The weather was perfect, the views were great and the roads were amazing. There were a lot of tight turns and elevation changes making it both challenging and fun for the M drivers and even more exciting and white-knuckled for the non-M drivers!


This run did a lot good as well. One of our own, BHairsto, has a son who suffers from the Fragile X Syndrome. With the help of everyone that attended we raised $1,100 for the National Fragile X Foundation! That is interesting. They plan to produce over 100,000 e9x M3s and only 1,815 Z4M Coupes were ever made for North America. A good number of those have either been converted into track cars or totaled.

There are around 3,000 regular Z4 Coupes in NA, though, and they look the same from the side except for the lack of M badges.
