aggressive street alignment
Hi all,
Just had my new alignment. I have BC-BR Coilover and its lowered approx 30mm all round with Front M3 sway bar. Dampers for Front is 8 clicks from soft. Damper for Rear is 12 clicks from soft. Front: 225/40/18@38PSI Camber = -1.9 deg Caster = 8 deg Toe = 0 deg Rear: 255/35/18@38PSI Camber = -1.5 deg Toe = 0 I dont do track but does lots of mountain run with twisting road. I also try to eliminate understeer as the previous factory alignment does understeer when approaching tight corners. Any comments?

Running the same stagger with the street wheels (@ 32F/37R) but square 255/35 (@ 32psi) for the track which is what's currently on the car. Dampers are set for the track all the time. Ride height is about an inch and a half below non-ZSP stock, about a half inch below ZSP stock. Street setup is -1.5 deg all around with zero toe in front and slight toe-in in back. Caster is just barely under 7 deg. Track setup is -3 deg front camber and -2.5 deg rear with toe-out in front and more toe-in in back.

Isn't it weird to run more camber in the front than rear?

Nope, not at all. It depends on how the chassis is setup for front and rear weight transfer to the outside tires in a turn.

I'm pretty sure you'd want to reduce front tire pressure to increase contact patch area and traction so the car doesn't plow as easily, assuming you're talking about understeer at turn-in anyway.

For those who have more camber at front than rear, do you track the car or street use?

Both. But camber is adjustable front and rear and witness marked for both street and track. Camber is greater in front than rear only in track setting.

Your tire pressures seem really high. stock is 30psi front, 35psi rear. i run 31front/36rear with 19x8.5 wheels and toyo proxy T1Rs (I forget the tire specs). If I increase pressure from there the car feels too high and bouncy and it will understeer. Tire store recommends factory pressures even with the low profiles..

I'm running -2 front, -1.8 rear, mostly street and will adjust front more negative for autox. Overkill for the street but it does make the car feel better; I took these settings during the second half of my tire wear, thinking I can experiment with this setting on the street with limited consequence of uneven wear. If I wear insides quickly I'll go with something less aggressive up front for street, on my next set of tires.
